Early YearsLearning in the Foundation StageThe Foundation Stage refers to Nursery and Reception. It focuses on children aged 3 to the end of Reception year. The foundation stage is crucial to building a secure foundation from which later learning can grow. It encourages learning through exploration, investigation and experimentation organised by staff to build on the many experiences the children will have already encountered. NurseryOur Lady of Lourdes Nursery Class was officially opened in February 2001. The setting is able to accommodate 30 children per session. Four of these places are Designated Resourced Places for Special Needs children, in line with the inclusive nature of our school. The Nursery is situated at the top of Grantham Road, near to the glass tower and has its own separate entrance. There are two sessions each day; one morning session from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and one afternoon session form 12.45 p.m. to 3.15 p.m.
