5th Febuary 2010 What a wonderful event many of us enjoyed on Saturday evening at the Southport Theatre. Our school choir successfully auditioned before Christmas to perform with Gypsy, the operatic busker who sings on Chapel Street. The children accompanied Gypsy so well and we are all so proud of them. The atmosphere was wonderful and the choir loved the opportunity to perform ‘live’ in the theatre. A night I am sure they will not forget! A particular thank you to the staff who supported them on the evening, Miss Dempsey, Mrs. Hodge, Mrs. Aindow, Mrs. Casquet and Mrs. Napier. I know it is appreciated by you all. We look forward to further events!

15th January 2010 On behalf of the Governors and the staff we wish you all a Happy New Year 2010. What an exciting start! I hope you have all enjoyed making snowmen, having snowball fights and tobogganing! Thank you for your understanding in these adverse weather conditions. Our staggered end to the day, has ensured our safety in leaving while so many paths and roadways are unclear. (Time will be made up in the next few weeks by having less assemblies and hymn practices.) Next week the school day will operate as normal and all children should enter and exit via the normal routes. We welcome into our school community Mr. Paton who is our new Premises Officer and Miss Birmingham, with us temporarily covering Mrs. Bristow’s maternity leave in Year 3. We are also pleased to have Mrs. DaSilva back with us in Year 5 returning from her maternity leave. I look forward to working in partnership with you throughout 2010. Thank you for your continued support,

27th November 2009 Last week Year 6 returned from our annual Robinwood Residential. Abseiling, climbing, long walks, obstacle courses, team challenges and the piranha pool – they and the staff survived it all! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their exhausting, but entertaining three days away. My thanks to the staff Miss. Barton, Mrs. Burns, Mr. Kearon, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. McCarthy, Mrs. McKiernan, Mr. Power and Mrs. Todd for giving of their time. I know it is appreciated by you all. Well done to our Year 6 pupils who received an excellent report for their exemplary behaviour, positive approach and enthusiastic participation while there. We are very proud of you
