Information Communication Technology (ICT)

Information and communication technology (ICT) capability is an essential skill for life and enables children to participate in a rapidly changing world. Each year, the children, build on their previous learning by looking at four key aspects of ICT: finding things out; developing and making things happen; exchanging and sharing information; reviewing, modifying and evaluating work as it progresses. Children develop these aspects as they work with a range of information, explore a variety of ICT tools, and investigate and compare different uses of ICT. Within school, the children have the opportunity to use laptops, across the curriculum, to explore a range of software packages and the internet. Additionally, they have access to digital cameras, control devices and video cameras.

In the Foundation stage ICT plays a key role in all areas of their development, reflecting upon their life experiences. It’s essential for our children to learn about technology and its role in the world in which we live. The children have access to a variety of resources such as digital cameras, laptops, tills, CD players and many more.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB PAYMENTS The after school club team have asked for any payments to be given directly to them when collecting your child rather than passing them via the teacher or the school office. Thank you for your co-operation.

BIKE IT VIRTUAL ‘BIKE RACE.’ Our bike race has begun and we are making great progress along the route but we need more children and adults to cycle to school so we can get further. At the moment we are about 100th out of 300 so if we can improve on our position it would be great. We may even get to the front! There are wonderful prizes for the winning school so we need to really try!

ADVENT GIVING During the season of Advent our children were given Mission Club boxes to collect pennies for Catholic overseas missions. We were once again delighted with the response. In total, our children raised £378 to help less fortunate children in Nigeria. Thank you for your continued support and generosity with our fundraising.
