The More Able and Talented Child

At Our Lady of Lourdes we appreciate and value all the children as individuals. Whist we celebrate all our pupils individual qualities, there is effective provision for and monitoring of the more able and talented pupils. Pupils who are identified as being more able or talented are provided for by having an Individual Learning Plan (ILP). This personalised learning ensures that these pupils are challenged with set targets according to their own style of learning.

Daily challenges, a strong focus on developing thinking skills and the ‘Six Thinking Hats’ approach to thinking are just some of the ways we provide for the more able pupil. These identified pupils are closely monitored to ensure they are always fulfilling their potential.
