SEAL - Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning
SEAL or Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning is a government initiative which aims to improve behaviour and learning in schools. The social and emotional aspects of learning are the underpinning qualities and skills that help us to manage life and learning effectively. They include:- self-awareness, managing feelings, motivation, empathy and social skills.
Our Lady of Lourdes uses this structured, whole-curriculum framework for teaching social, emotional and behavioural skills to all pupils through a number of assemblies and lessons. We feel the programme complements our school's unique character and Catholic ethos.
