Welcome to the Year 2 Curriculum Newsletter.

Year 2 will continue with their cross-curricular topic work during the summer term. Our topic will be Explorers, where pupils will learn what an explorer is, what they need to support their exploration and about famous explorers in the past. We will begin with an initial focus on Captain James Cook. We will also look closely at Pocahontas, the first American Indian woman to become friendly with the settlers. Our work in music will be enhanced by a visit to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, for a children’s concert based a new adaptation of the well loved story ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’, plus many other exciting orchestral pieces. Our pupils will be given opportunities to join in with the action!

The Summer Curriculum Newsletter is ready for you to view or print as a PDF document.
