Topic Work
As with the Romans, we have decided to take a creative approach to History where we are covering Literacy, Art, DT and ICT objectives through our Vikings topic. Literacy activities will include researching the Vikings using ICT and books, reading and writing poetry and writing stories where a Dilemma is posed.
Through the Viking topic we will be designing and building a Gargoyle torch, exploring patterns and printing and making a whole class Viking longboat.
You could help your child by visiting the library, Museums (Jorvik) and researching on the internet.
Science
Topics to be covered this term will be friction: air, water and surface resistance. Along with Circuits and Conductors, where children will learn how to make a simple circuit (links to Viking topic) and identify electrical symbols. To also Identify the conductive properties of a range of materials.
Here I Am (R.E.)
