Welcome to our School Council Page
At the start of each school year our KS1 and KS2 children hold their own School Council elections.
We teach the importance of our British values, democracy and tolerance. Each year, the children apply using our application forms below. A ballot is then held in each class to choose a representative.
Southport Learning Partnership
Over the past few years our school Council representatives have met with other representatives from other Primary and Secondary Schools from across the Southport area.
They meet to discuss the issues concerning our local community and environment. The Southport Learning Partnership hope that these meetings will allow children to voice their opinions and ideas and bring about positive change in our community.
SLP School Council Meeting 2017/18
We visited Birkdale Boys High School to discuss and vote our plans for this academic year! Unfortunately we could only take two representatives. They did a great job and we voted with all the other schools in our cluster to decide what we would do in our community and globally.
After a vote, the group decided that the Southport based Community Event would be a ‘Wacky Hair Day’ to raise money for dementia awareness in the form of the Southport Alzheimer’s Society.
This is planned to take place on ‘Love My Community Day’ on the last day of February half term, with pupils paying to have wacky hair for the day.
The global appeal will be for Mary’s Meals. This is a charity that raises money to provide children from poorer parts of the World with a school meal. Date TBA with SLP cluster.

Remembrance Day Service
On Friday 8th November 2018 we were invited to St. Cuthbert’s Church in Churchtown, Southport to take part in the Southport Learning Partnership’s Remembrance Service. We took our own wreath with a photograph in the centre of our remembrance work. Each school in the SLP presented their wreath and took part in the short service. A replica WW1 plane was also brought to the event; the children thoroughly enjoyed climbing inside for a photograph!
